Spotify and Beep

I couldn’t be more excited to finally announce: Beep now works with Spotify.

And of course, we haven’t just built some crappy version of Spotify into our app. We’ve worked with Spotify to integrate control of Beep right into their app.

So there’s nothing new to install — just use the Spotify app that’s already on your phone to play music on Beep. Spotify calls this Spotify Connect. Here’s what it looks like:

You just click that icon at the bottom right and select your group of Beeps — and synchronized Spotify plays throughout your home. It’s awesome.

One caveat to know: Spotify Connect is a premium feature, so you’ll need a Spotify Premium account to make it work.

I’ll be honest, I’m one of the lucky ones. I’ve had this working in my home since 2012, when we started working with Spotify’s team. Well, maybe not that lucky, since it was buggy as hell and our hardware sucked back then. But now it’s awesome, and I know you’re going to love it.

Can’t wait for you to experience it. Until then, I leave you with this image from my trip to Spotify HQ in Stockholm last Spring (it’s gorgeous, you should visit!).
